Located in Portland’s historic Old Town neighborhood, the new nine-story, Gladys McCoy building is a 158,000 SF facility which consolidates approximately 500 healthcare professionals across a broad spectrum of disciplines throughout Multnomah County into the same location for the first time. Designed to meet both current and future growth, the building includes a state-of-the-art central laboratory, ground floor pharmacy, administrative offices, communicable disease services and clinic spaces to serve the public. It is also home to the incident command post for Multnomah County’s emergency health response team, centralizing efforts in the event of a public health crisis.

"This installation includes an interpretation of the regional Oregon landscape and its endangered flora to gently highlight the perils the natural environment is facing and at the same provide a serene atmosphere throughout the building."
I had the great pleasure to work closely with Francesco in coordinating the installation of his work on the ground floor gallery and waiting space. The artwork brings life to this important pedestrian street and is a beautiful counterpoint for the urban setting.
